Your wedding is the most special day of your life, and should be treated as such. Many people spend years planning their wedding, and whilst most want to stick to a traditional wedding, there are lots of unusual venues around the UK which are licensed to hold weddings which you may not have thought of.
1. Nash Point Lighthouse, Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales
For couples who love to be by the sea, Nash Point Lighthouse is an ideal location, providing you with a beautiful view as a backdrop to your ceremony. It's a great location for wedding photos and is perfect for couples who are looking for something a little out of the ordinary.
2. Leeds Art Gallery, Leeds, West Yorkshire
Leeds is a land of beauty and is an ideal destination for lovers of art, literature and theatre, as well as nature. In fact, Leeds is so kind to lovers of art that you can even get married in the Tiled Hall at Leeds Art Gallery. This is probably the most unique of all wedding venues in Leeds.
3. Carnglaze Caverns, Cornwall
Carnglaze Caverns is an incredibly romantic wedding location, but possibly the most unique venue is the Subterranean Lake. This is an underground lake in a cave-like area which is candlelit during wedding ceremonies for that added touch of romance. There's even sweet a little boat in the water.
4. The Gherkin, London
This is definitely one of the more unusual wedding venues, but is not a good choice if you're afraid of heights! Your ceremony will take place on level 39, and then you can enjoy your reception underneath the glass dome, 180 meters high, with a gorgeous 360 degree view of London.
5. HMS President (1918), London
Not all wedding venues have to be on land, and the historic royal navy ship makes an amazing wedding venue. If your guests are hard to please, you can even organise speedboat rides to keep them entertained!
